Phenology:

--the study of cyclic and seasonal natural phenomena, esp. in relation to climate and plant and animal life (Oxford Amer. College Dictionary).
Place:

"One definition of place, proposed by geographer Yi-Fu Tuan, is that a place comes into existence when humans give meaning to a part of the larger, undifferentiated geographic space. . . .
